Water Retention

To lose weight we need to reduce water retention.  Water retention generally is a known subject... but we are truly knowing it well?

The water retention can be defined as an endocrine disorder, linked to the metabolism and hormonal unbalance, which causes soft tissue swelling due to accumulation of liquid in the interstitial spaces between cells.

The causes of this process can be multiple: the hormonal changes (menopause or use of oral contraceptives) to the bad habits, up to serious illnesses such as kidney failure, heart failure, bladder or liver disease, high blood pressure.

In all these situations, there is an alteration of the transport paths of the liquid circulating in our veins and the lymphatic system, causing a lull in the bloodstream.

It looks hard to detect ... but actually the symptoms of water retention are visible to the naked eye: swelling, leg heaviness, aching skin.

To determine if you suffer from water retention tools exist. Those are the scientific examination of the urine specific gravity (in the presence of retention values have risen) and the measurement of the percentage of body water.
The first rule to follow for those who suffer from water retention, or for those who want to prevent it, is to reduce sodium intake, a substance that our body takes mainly the form sodium chloride (common salt). No more salty foods and the daily intake should not exceed 1.5 g.
